Herta Mikesch

Herta Mikesch (born October 7, 1960 in Ybbs an der Donau ) is an Austrian entrepreneur, politician ( ÖVP ) and was a member of the Austrian National Council between 2003 and 2008 .

education and profession

Herta Mikesch attended elementary school in Marbach from 1966 to 1970 and then from 1970 to 1975 the secondary school in Krummnussbaum and the main ski school in Lilienfeld . She was at the Waidhofen an der Ybbs training center and attended business school from 1975 to 1978.

Herta Mikesch worked as an office worker in her parents' company between 1978 and 1985. In 1985 she took over her parents' business and has been an entrepreneur ever since. She runs the Lehner Leisten business together with her husband, and in 1988 the company was relocated to the Persenbeug industrial area.

politics

Herta Mikesch was a member of the Marbach municipal council from 1990 to 1992 and has been the head of the main district group of the Austrian Melk Economic Association since 1999 . Since March 5, 2003 she has represented the ÖVP as a candidate for “Women in Business” in the National Council. According to their own statements, their political work focuses on rural areas, small and medium-sized enterprises, women and sport.

Private

Herta Mikesch was born as the third daughter of an entrepreneurial family, her parents later had a son. In her youth she was a ski racer and after the end of her career she became involved as a sports official. In 2005 she was elected as the successor to the late President of the Lower Austrian Ski Association.

Herta Mikesch has been married since 1981 and has a son and a daughter.
