history

Lužany was first mentioned in a document in 1394. From 1405 the knightly family of the Střížek von Lužany can be traced. At the end of the 15th century, Mikuláš Trčka from Lípa auf Lichtenburg acquired the village and added it to the Smiřice domain . He was followed by Wilhelm Trčka von Lípa, Johann Dietrich the Elder from Žerotín , Wilhelm von Waldstein auf Hermanitz , Adam Sylvar von Pilnikau auf Schurz and Jan Rudolf Trčka from Lípa . After his death in 1634, he fell out of favor and his goods were confiscated by Emperor Ferdinand II in 1636 and sold to Count Matthias von Gallas . It was followed by the Sternberger , Johann Wenzel von Paar and Emperor Joseph II.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lužany and the district Lhota formed a community in the Königinhof district from 1850 . In 1863 the Reichenberg textile manufacturer Johann Liebieg bought the goods. From the property of his son Franz, Lužany fell to the kk family fund in 1881 due to excessive indebtedness. The schoolhouse was built between 1875 and 1876 and is now the seat of the municipal office and the post office. In 1886 the "Pastouška", a poor house, was built.

Between 1949 and 1960 the village belonged to Okres Jaroměř and on January 1, 1961, after its dissolution, it became part of Okres Hradec Králové . Between 1980 and 1990 Lužany was incorporated into Hořiněves . In the course of the incorporation, Lhota lost its status as a district.
