history

The first written mention of the village Boharyně at the intersection of two trade routes from Königgrätz to Nový Bydžov and from Hořice to Přelouč was made in 1355. Boharyně was the seat of the Vladiken Epik of Boharna ( Epik z Boharyně ). In 1384 a parish church was mentioned. From 1384 Heinrich Epik von Boharna and from 1411 Buschek von Boharna owned the estate. The city of Königgrätz later acquired the estate. Because of their participation in the Bohemian class uprising, Emperor Ferdinand I confiscated all of Königgrätzer town goods in 1547 and sold most of the drawn-in villages to Johann von Pernstein . His three sons sold most of it at a profit. From 1619 the estate belonged to Karl Jestřibský von Riesenburg, in 1650 to Johann Asterle and his wife Veronika, née. from Astfeld to Kratenau . The latter had a new church built. Barbara von Memmingen, b. Baroness von Waitzenau , the estate. She sold the goods Boharna and Homile in 1704 for 46,300 guilders to Ferdinand Bonaventura von Harrach (1637–1706), who united them with his Gut Stößer . In 1730 a school is documented for the first time. In 1787 the Liebtschan parish opened in Boharna .

In 1835 the village of Boharna in the Königgrätzer Kreis consisted of 46 houses, in which 330 people lived. The local church of St. Johannes Nepomuk and Bartholomäus was under the patronage of the Religionsfonds, and the school was under the patronage of the authorities. There was also a farm, an inn and a mill with a board saw in the village. Boharna was the pastor for Homile, Puchlowitz and Zwikow. Until the middle of the 19th century, Boharna remained subordinate to Fideikommiss .

After the abolition of patrimonial Bohárna formed from 1849 with the district Homyle a municipality in the judicial district of Nechanitz . From 1868 the community belonged to the Königgrätz district . By order of the Linguistic Commission in Prague, Boharyně was established as the official place name in 1920 .

1949 Boharyně was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí; this was repealed in the course of the territorial reform of 1960, since then the municipality has belonged to Okres Hradec Králové. At the beginning of 1961 Puchlovice was incorporated. On January 1, 1976, Trnava and Zvíkov (with Budín) were incorporated. On January 1, 1992, Puchlovice broke up and formed its own community. There is a primary school and a kindergarten in Boharyně.

The entire, currently unused property including the mill ditch and weir was placed under protection as a cultural monument in 2003.
  • Baroque Church of St. Bartholomäus, it was rebuilt in 1650 under Johann Asterle. During the renovation of 1783, which was financed partly from government pensions and partly from church assets, it received its present form. In 1787 the first localist was hired.
