history

Dohalice was first mentioned in a document in 1352. The existence of a plebany has been recorded since 1350, the church was built in 1384. At that time, the owner was Václav von Dohalice. The seat of the Dohalice family was the water festival on the Bystřice. During the reign of Václav Záruba von Hustiřan, the fortress was rebuilt. For a long time the village belonged to the Bořek Dohalský family of Dohalice. They owned Dohalice until 1658, from the end of the 16th century until 1628 the Dohalský also held Mokrovousy . During the Thirty Years War the fortress was destroyed and renewed in 1667.

In 1742, under Elisabeth Countess Schaffgotsch , the old church was redesigned into a baroque rotunda with a lantern . In 1788 a school opened in Dohaličky. In 1825 the fortress went out and was converted into a warehouse.

Church in Dohaličky

After the abolition of patrimonial Dohalice formed a municipality in the Königgrätz district with the districts Dohaličky, Horní Dohalice and Kopanina . During the German War , Prussian and Austrian troops met in the area . To the east of the village, bitter fighting took place on July 3, 1866 around the strategically important hills Svíb and Chlum, which went down in history as the Battle of Königgrätz . In 1888 the church collapsed. In the 1920s Horní Dohalice broke up and formed its own community. From 1949 to 1960 Dohalice was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí, since 1961 it has belonged again to the Okres Hradec Králové. Horní Dohalice was incorporated in 1961.
