Světí (German Swiet ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northwest of the city center on the outskirts of Hradec Králové and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové .
geography
Světí is on the East Bohemian Table. In the south lies the valley basin of the Melounka brook with the Mlýnek pond.
Neighboring towns are Neděliště in the north, Lochenice in the northeast, Předměřice nad Labem in the east, Plotiště nad Labem in the southeast, Bříza in the south, Rosnice in the southwest, Všestary in the west and Rozběřice and Chlum in the northwest.
history
The first documentary mention of the village Světy and its church took place in 1365 as the property of the Teutonic Knights in Königingrätz . From 1436 the current place name Světí is in use.
After the abolition of patrimonial Světy formed from 1850 a municipality in the Königgrätz district . On July 3, 1866, the warring Prussian and Austrian troops met on the northwestern hill of Chlum during the German War . The bloody battle went down in history as the Battle of Königgrätz . In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí and, after its dissolution, came to the Okres Hradec Králové on January 1, 1961. At the same time Světí was incorporated into Všestary . The community has existed again since 1991. It consists of 93 residential buildings.

The two-part coat of arms of Světí shows the aurochs of the Pernstein family on the right . The left side, with the colors black, silver and red, represents the colors of the Salava family of Lípa.

- Church of St. Andrew, verifiable as a parish church since 1365; in the years 1995–1997 the church was renovated.
- Zavadilka Inn, today the cultural center of the village and owned by the municipality
