Smržov (German Smrschow , 1939–45 Morelheid ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers east of Smiřice and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové .
geography
Smržov is located on the East Bohemian Table on the southwestern edge of the Rasošký les forest in the valley basin of the Smržovský creek. The ridge Bílý Kopec (262 m) rises to the west.
Neighboring towns are Rasošky in the north, Nový Ples and Čápovka in the northeast, Lejšovka in the east, Libřice in the southeast, Černilov and Na Drahách in the south, Hubíles in the southwest, Smiřice in the west and Vlkov in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in documents in 1490, when the owner of the village, Hašek Střížek von Lužany, bought the Smiřice estate. In 1588 Smržov consisted of 13 settlers.
After the abolition of patrimonial rule , the municipality of Smržov-Hubilesy was established in 1850 and belongs to the Queen 's Court district . Both villages alternately provided the mayor. The village school was built in 1895. In 1896 Smržov and Hubilesy separated and each formed their own communities. During the time of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia , the village received the Germanized name Morchelheid . Between 1949 and 1960 the community belonged to the Okres Jaroměř. After its dissolution, she came to Okres Hradec Králové at the beginning of 1961. The school closed in 1966. In 1967 Hubíles was incorporated.

The municipality Smržov consists of the districts Hubíles ( Hubiles ) and Smržov ( Smrschow ).
