Babice (German Babitz , also Groß Babitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers northeast of Chlumec nad Cidlinou and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové .
geography
Babice is located on the East Bohemian Table on the right side of the Bystřice at a small tributary.
Neighboring towns are Budín and Malé Babice in the north, Boharyně in the northeast, Trnava in the east, Roudnice in the southeast, Kratonohy , Požáry and Obědovice in the south, Kosičky and Kosice in the southwest, Nová Ves in the west and Barchov in the northwest.
history
It was first mentioned in a document in 1363. The owner at that time was Vladike Matěj von Babice, who can be traced back to 1375. The seat of the family was a water fortress , which was located northwest of the village in the direction of Barchov on the square "Vlčí hrad". Under Matěj's son, the lords of Babice moved their seat to Boharyně around 1400 and sold their goods in Babice. In 1414 Babice belonged partly to the pastor Zdislav from Kratonohy and the brothers Pešík from Babice. After the village fell desolate in the Hussite Wars , the Nechanice estate acquired the corridors. Under the Lords of Pernstein , the desert village was added to the Chlumec nad Cidlinou rule around 1541 . Thereafter, there was a resettlement and in the Chlumetzer land register of 1571 Babice was again listed as a village.
After the abolition of patrimonial Babice formed with the districts Malé Babice and Nová Ves from 1850 a municipality in the Nechanice district. Between 1870 and 1920 the place was called Velké Babice. In 1881 the parish village of Velké Babice consisted of 28 houses and had 194 inhabitants. In the hamlet of Malé Babice, consisting of 12 houses, 69 people lived at the same time. From 1907 the community belonged to the Königgrätz district . In the 1920s, Malé Babice came to Trnava as a district. From 1949 to 1961 the community was assigned to the Okres Nový Bydžov and came back to the Okres Hradec Králové after its dissolution. In 1980 Babice was incorporated into Kosičky . The community has existed again since 1992.
