Mokrovousy (German Nassenbart ) is a municipality with 351 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 km northwest of Hradec Králové at 252 m. ü. M. on the eastern bank of the Bystřice in the wide river plain and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové .
history
The settlement of the place took place in prehistoric times. There is a Neolithic site in the Pod kostelem corridor . During the construction of a single-family housing estate, prehistoric remains of clay pots and processed flint stones were found.
Mokrovousy was first mentioned in a document in 1364. Since that time the owners of the place have changed many times. In 1707 the Count Schaffgotsch bought the place and it became part of their property in Sadová . After the fire in Sadova Castle, the Harrach Counts bought the village on Pürgles .
The war memorial was built in 1928 and was used annually by the Soviet Army after the Second World War to lay wreaths on the occasion of the liberation. In 1930 Mokrovousy had about 400 inhabitants. In 1968, 236 residents signed a resolution against the invasion of the Warsaw Pact troops into the Czechoslovakia.
The course of the Bystřice was regulated and straightened in the past and numerous drainage ditches were built. The most important, Klenická svodnice, runs west of the river . The place is surrounded by meadows and fields, there are no forests.
Place name
It is very likely that the name of the village, which was located in the wetlands on the Bystřice, derives from mokro ve vsi ( wetness in the village ) and the current name ( wet beard ) developed from this as a vernacular corruption.
