history
Praskačka originated in the 13th century on the Prager Steig, a medieval trade connection from Prague to Glatz , and belonged to the possessions of the Opatowitz monastery . After the monastery was destroyed in 1421 by the Hussites under Diviš Bořek z Miletínka , the town of Hradec Králové first became the owner of Praskačka. Georg von Podiebrad transferred the village to his son Heinrich von Münsterberg , who in 1491 sold it back to the council of Hradec Králové. Because of his involvement in the anti-Habsburg uprising, the Bohemian and Roman-German King Ferdinand I confiscated the city's goods in 1547. At that time there was a festival in Praskačka. In 1561 Jindřich Nejedlý von Vysoká bought the village. He died of the plague the following year and his widow Anna sold the festivals to the Záruba von Hustiřan. Until the Thirty Years' War the village was parish to the parish church of St. Lawrence in Opatovice and then came to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Hradec Králové. During this time the festivities also went out. Until 1848 Praskačka belonged to the Libčany manor .
After the abolition of patrimonial in 1850, the Praskačka community in the Hradec Králové district was established. In 1893 the new station "Praskačka - Urbanice" was opened on the Königgrätz-Prague railway line. Between 1949 and 1960 the municipality belonged to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí. On January 1st, 1961 Sedlice, Vlčkovice, Urbanice and Krásnice including its district Žižkovec were incorporated. In 1999 a new municipal office building was built.
