history

Račice was one of the villages that was established in 1222 during the reign of Ottokar I Přemysl by the Opatovice monastery along the trade route from Prague to Náchod . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1366. After the Opatovice monastery was destroyed by the Hussites , the village came to secular owners. From 1437 on, the governor of Bohemia, Aleš Vřešťovský von Riesenburg, belonged to them . In 1468 the brothers Petr and Beneš Kdulinec from Ostromíř followed. 1491 acquired Sigismund von Kurzbach auf Vítkov Račice. Two years later Wilhelm II von Pernstein bought the village. From 1547 Račice belonged to the captain of the Königgrätzer district , Wilhelm Trčka von Lípa . The property, which was confiscated during the Thirty Years War, was bought by Matthias Gallas in 1636 . He was followed in 1674 by Johann von Sporck .

In 1790, Emperor Joseph II acquired the place and slated it to the Chamber of Commerce Smiřice . In 1799 the first village school started teaching.

After the abolition of patrimonial Račice nad Trotinou became a municipality in the Koeniginhof district in 1850 . With the purchase of the Smiřice estate by Johann von Liebieg in 1863, the goods in Račice also came to the Reichenberg textile manufacturer. On July 3, 1866, the Battle of Königgrätz took place southwest of Račice on Chlum and Svíb . In 1881 the Račice estates reverted to the imperial family fund. In 1882 the village received a railway connection with the Smiřice-Hněvčeves railway line.

From 1950 the community belonged to Okres Jaroměř and after its dissolution at the beginning of 1961 to Okres Hradec Králové . In 1975 it was incorporated into Hořiněves . The Račice nad Trotinou municipality has existed again since November 24, 1990. In December 2004, passenger traffic on the line 046 Smiřice - Hněvčeves was discontinued.
