history

Archaeological finds prove a settlement of Chlum since the Neolithic . The first written mention of the village and the parish church took place in 1352. In 1358 Jan Znojík was named as the owner. He was followed by Zdeněk von Chlum. The lords of Chlum can be traced as the owners of the fortress until 1419, at the beginning of the 16th century Chlum belonged to the Hamza von Zábědovice family. Václav Sádovský Sloupno held a share of Chlum since the end of the 16th century , who sold it in 1604 to Hellfried Frant, Baron von Kaiserstein. After Jan Jiří Hamza von Zábědovice's death, Václav the Elder Záruba von Hustířan bought his property in Chlum in 1607. In 1617, the two sons of Ctibor Záruba von Hustířan shared their father's property. Jan Václav Záruba received Chlum and the Kubcov farm in Byňovice. At the beginning of the 18th century, Karl Ferdinand Dobřenský von Dobřenice acquired Chlum together with Neděliště and Dlouhé Dvory. During the Seven Years' War in 1757 Austrian troops camped near Chlum. An epidemic broke out in the military camp and spread to the residents of Chlum.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lípa formed a community in the Königgrätz district from 1850 . On July 3, 1866, the warring Prussian and Austrian troops met at the Chlum and Svíb during the German War . The bloody battle went down in history as the Battle of Königgrätz . In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí and, after its dissolution, came to the Okres Hradec Králové on January 1, 1961. In 1971, Chlum was incorporated into Číštěves and since January 1st, 1989 the village has belonged to the municipality of Všestary . In 1991 Chlum had 184 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 73 houses in which 190 people lived.
