history
Sloupno was first mentioned in a document in 1278. Until the end of the 15th century, the manor house was used by the Vladiken families of Kordul, Hernýk, Heřmanský and Sádovský from Sloupno. After 1487 the festivals went out. In 1516 Wilhelm II. Von Pernstein acquired parts of the Sloupno rule and added these goods to the Chlumetz rule . Other owners were from 1521 Vojtěch von Pernstein (1490–1534) and after his death his nephews Jaroslav , Vratislav and Vojtěch. In 1553 a new fortress was built on the banks of the Cidlina. The Pernsteiners sold the goods to Jan Klucký from Libodřice. Later Sluopno belonged to the Materna of Květnice and Přítoc. Albrecht von Waldstein bought the goods from them in 1628. In 1636 the Sloupno estate was confiscated and given to Nikolaus Graf Desfours as a gift. His heirs sold Sloupno in 1665 to Adolf Wilhelm Harant von Polschitz. Harant sold the rule to the Břevnov monastery in 1672 . Its abbot Thomas Sartorius had the fortress converted into a summer residence. Sloupno, which is conveniently located halfway between Braunau and Břevnov, also served as an extension for trips. In 1686 the Benedictines bought the Podoliby farm, on which the village of Chmelovice was later laid out, the Neuhof , on which the Opatow settlement was built, and Kralik from the Smidary lordship . In 1843 Sloupno had 637 inhabitants.
After the abolition of patrimonial Sloupno formed a municipality in the Nový Bydžov district from 1850 . In 1921 there were 905 people in Sloupno. In 1948 the Benedictine estates and the castle were expropriated. Since 1961 the Sloupno municipality belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové. Between 1980 and 1990 Sloupno was incorporated into Nový Bydžov.
