history
The first written mention of the village took place in 1549, when Jindřich Nejedlý von Vysoká acquired the Libčany estate from Johann von Pernstein's sons. In 1561 Nejedlý bought the Praskačka estate with the villages of Drbanice , Krásnice and Sedlice and added this to Libčany. After Nejedlý's death, his widow Anna took over the property. The subsequent owner of the Praskačka manor was Petr Nejedlý from Vysoká between 1574 and 1589. His widow then married Tobiáš Nejedlý von Vysoká, both died in 1620. The daughter Johanna Dorothea Nejedlý, who had become the owner of the estate in 1616, married Jan Záruba von Hustiřan. In 1622 the estate was confiscated because of Jan Záruba's participation in the uprising of 1618 , he was expelled from the country and died in Saxony in 1629. It is not known to whom the Bohemian Chamber sold the Praskačka fortress and the associated villages and how the estate was reunited with Libčany. Since the 17th century, a road led from Königgrätz via Kukleny, Turava and Průhon to the old forge in Urbanice and from there to Lhota and on to Prague . When the Straka von Nedabylic Libčany gentlemen bought Libčany at the end of the 17th century , Urbanice was already part of the estate again. Johann Peter Straka von Nedabylic (1645-1720) decreed in his will laid down in 1710 the establishment of the Straka-Stift to establish a noble knight academy for young impoverished aristocrats, into which his goods Liebtschan , Okrauhlitz and Ober Weckelsdorf flowed.
In 1835 the village of Urbanitz in the Königgrätzer Kreis not far from Prager Chaussee consisted of 36 houses in which 248 people lived. There was an inn in the village. The parish was Liebtschan. Until the middle of the 19th century, Urbanitz remained subject to the Liebtschan Foundation.
After the abolition of patrimonial Urbanice formed a municipality in the judicial district of Königgrätz from 1849 . From 1868 the community belonged to the Königgrätz district . In 1886 the large estate was sold to Johann Nepomuk von Harrach . In 1949 Urbanice was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí; this was repealed in the course of the territorial reform of 1960, since then the municipality has belonged to Okres Hradec Králové. Between 1964 and 1990 Urbanice was incorporated into Praskačka. Since 2004 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner.
