Nové Město (German Neustadtl ) is a municipality with 401 inhabitants in Okres Hradec Králové , Czech Republic .
location
It lies at an altitude of 222 m above sea level. M. two kilometers southeast of the town of Chlumec nad Cidlinou and the confluence of the Bystřice in the Cidlina . The railway line from Chlumec to Hradec Králové runs on the northern edge of the village, where a stopping point shared with Písek is located.
To the south of Nové Město, the route of the extension of the D 11 motorway , which is currently under construction, passes. The town will in future have a direct connection to this motorway via exit 68 Chýšť .
history
The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1397. Nové Město has been one of the villages of the Chlumetz rule since that time .
About a kilometer west of the village on the hill near the hamlet of Skalka, a memorial ( Památník selských bouří ) commemorates the peasant uprising of 1775. The sculpture depicting Matěj Chvojka was created in 1938 based on a design by the painter Vincent Beneš .
