Hertha Klust

Hertha Klust (* 1907 in Berlin ; † March 1970 there ) was a German pianist .

Career

Hertha Klust, who trained as a singer ( mezzo-soprano ), worked as a répétiteur at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1949, despite increasing hearing loss , where she musically shaped a number of important singers, including Pilar Lorengar . In the concert hall she made a name for herself primarily as a song accompanist. In addition to Ernst Haefliger and Josef Greindl , she accompanied the young Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , which is documented by numerous radio and record recordings from the 1950s. The joint concert activity with Fischer-Dieskau began in July 1948 in the Titania-Palast in Berlin with a legendary rendition of Franz Schubert's “Schönen Müllerin” and lasted until the late 1950s.

In 1954 Hertha Klust received the Berlin Art Prize .
