Hervormde Kerk (Sint Kruis)
The Hervormde Kerk ( German Reformed Church ) is an Evangelical Reformed parish church in Sint Kruis (municipality of Sluis , province of Zeeland ) in the Netherlands .
history
In the 14th century the massive west tower of the church, presumably consecrated to the Holy Cross ( Sint Kruis ) until the Reformation was introduced , was built. A three-aisled hall longhouse with transept and choir was added to it in the course of the 15th century.
In the course of the Eighty Years' War the church suffered severe damage. In the course of the restoration work in the middle of the 17th century, the aisles, the transept and the choir were not restored. The nave was shortened by a yoke and the arcade arches, which originally opened to the aisles, were walled up. From the church, a hall building, which is common in Calvinist worship, was created.
The parish of Sint Kruis today belongs to a Reformed congregation within the United Protestant Church in the Netherlands .
organ
The organ was in 1991 by the workshop of organ building Schumacher from Eupen built, Belgium. The slider chest instrument has 5 stops on a manual (C – g 3 : Gedekt 8 ′, Prestant 4 ′, Roerfluit 4 ′, Principaal 2 ′, Cimbel II). The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
