The Sacred Heart Church in Grodzisk Wielkopolski

The Sacred Heart Church ( kościół pw. Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa ) in Grodzisk Wielkopolski was built in 1904–1905 as a parish church for the German-speaking Protestant Uniate population of the then Grätz , Province of Posen , based on a design by Ludwig von Tiedemann . It replaced a previous building that was built in 1788 and fell into disrepair at the end of the 19th century.

By decree of January 29, 1902, the imperial couple took over the sponsorship of the new church. The new church was built at the same location on the Neuer Markt, but now made of brick . The Berlin sculptor Heinrich Wefing worked on the interior . On June 6, 1905, Johannes Hesekiel , General Superintendent of the Old Prussian Church Province of Posen , carried out the inauguration.

The Dreifaltigkeitskirche in Berlin-Lankwitz, also built by Ludwig von Tiedemann in 1905/1906, is very similar to the Herz-Jesu-Kirche.

After the First World War , the parish formed part of the newly founded Uniate Evangelical Church in Poland . After the Second World War and the forced resettlement of the German population , it was used by the Roman Catholic Church in 1957 and made a parish church in 1980 . The consecration took place in 1960.
