Herzklopfen was a German flirt show for young people that was hosted by Thomas Ohrner from 1993 to 1995 . The subtitle of the show was: "A game about love and sympathy".

The aim of the game show was to become the so-called “dream couple” of the show. Hearts were distributed as points in the program. The program started with three male or three female candidates having to choose their teammate from a group of six other female or male candidates after a round of questions . Whoever drew the highest playing card from a huge card game was allowed to start and had the so-called free choice .

After each round of the game, the so-called heart factor was measured, for which both players on a team had to put their hands on a sensor . The “sensor” consisted of a huge heart with red nails attached close together at the top. Thomas Ohrner tried with some provocative remarks to influence the pulse rate.

In the first round, players were asked to answer questions while standing with their backs to each other, with a heart for each match. There were two versions of the match game: In the first, the candidates had to answer questions identically by shaking or nodding their head; in the second, candidate A had to guess the characteristics of the other candidate (color of the sweater, earring yes / no ...) in order to gain points .

After the first couple left, there was the pretzel stick meal . The pretzel sticks were given to the moderator by a member of the audience ; this guest was often seen in one of the next episodes. After repeating the scene in slow motion, the points were distributed at the discretion of the moderator.

After another round of questions, the heart rate was measured again thanks to the "sensor", whereby the closest possible correspondence with hearts was rewarded. Then the weaker couple was eliminated. Both candidates of the winning team were allowed a wish, such as B. express a shopping spree, which was then fulfilled. After answering the question of whether you wanted to spend the day on which the wishes were fulfilled with the other, the pair of players was then named the show's “dream couple”.

Favorite prizes were a ride in a hot air balloon, a shopping spree, hosting a party or even going to a concert.
