history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1197 under the name Dilstorp . In 1200 the place came into the possession of the Landgrave of Thuringia. In 1348 Dielsdorf was donated to the Erfurt Marienstift. In 1533 the village became Protestant during the Reformation . During the period of the great plague from 1566 to 1637, a total of 385 inhabitants died.

In 1639 Dielsdorf was completely abandoned as a result of the Thirty Years' War . 12 years later, the Church of the Holy Cross was restored and life came back to the place. The place belonged from the middle of the 17th century to the office Großrudestedt , which from 1672 was part of the Duchy of Saxony-Eisenach and in 1741 came to Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . Since 1850 the place belonged to the administrative district Weimar of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach. In 1887 it was connected to the railway network with the Großrudestedt – Buttelstädt line , which, however, was dismantled after the Second World War in 1946 as a reparation payment .

In 1974 Dielsdorf was attached to the community of Schloßvippach .
