Hesperides Trough
Coordinates: 60 ° 21 ′ S , 50 ° 50 ′ W
The Hespérides Trough is a lake basin in the Southern Ocean . It lies between the archipelagos of the South Shetland Islands and the South Orkney Islands .
It was named after the Spanish polar research vessel Hespérides in November 1995 by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
