Hessian care medal
The Hessian Care Medal was donated on September 15, 2004 and is an honor by the Hessian state government for "people who have made special contributions to people in need of care, sick or disabled people".
Eligible persons
The care medal of the State of Hesse can be awarded to people who have cared for a person in need of care, sick or handicapped in Hesse in the domestic sector free of charge for at least five years and who are worthy of the award. However, shorter interruptions do not categorically rule out an honor. Caregivers are those who are close to the sick or disabled person in need of care or who care for and look after them through neighborly help. The care should not be more than a year ago at the time of the proposal.
Award
The churches and religious communities, the associations of voluntary welfare, the private trade associations for the elderly and the disabled, the state seniors' representation of Hessen, the representative of the Hessian state government for disabled people, self-help groups, the communities and districts and every natural person are entitled to make proposals. The proposal is to be addressed to the Minister of Social Affairs via the District Administrator or the Lord Mayor, who will award the State of Hesse's care medal.
Delivery
The care medal is awarded by the Minister of Social Affairs. A certificate is also issued about the award. However, the handover can also be delegated to other members of the cabinet. The care medal and the certificate become the property of the borrower when they are awarded. The state gazette of the State of Hesse reports on the award.
Appearance and texture
The round medal, which is made of porcelain and has a diameter of 8 cm, shows the coat of arms of the state above the words for long-term care and support on the front and bears the inscription Thanks and Recognition in a circle .
