Hestrup is a farming community in the municipality of Handrup , Samtgemeinde Lengerich , Emsland district .
Hestrup is first mentioned in a document in 890. It is about three kilometers east of Lengerich and about one kilometer south of the Stroot district, which has developed into the center of the village in recent years.
