The so-called Hexenturm in Oberderdingen , a municipality in the district of Karlsruhe ( Baden-Württemberg ), is a tower of the former fortifications of the Amthof Oberderdingen . The building is a protected monument .

history

Of the original four towers of the Amthof in Oberderdingen, only the so-called witch tower remains. It was probably built in the first half of the 15th century and consists of humpback blocks . Since suspicious persons were locked up here at the time of the witch hunts, the name Hexenturm became common.

Todays use

After the renovation of the tower, an exhibition about the Oberderdinger Amthof was housed there.
