HiFi Jazz Records was an American jazz - label in the 1960s.

The HiFi Jazz record label was founded in 1958 by David Axelrod in Hollywood. He was best known as a producer and A&R at Capitol Records in the 1960s when he a. a. Cannonball Adderley and other African American artists produced. On his short-lived HiFi Jazz label , Axelrod released some 12-inch LPs around 1960 before joining Capitol in 1963. Appeared on the label a. a. Albums by Richie Kamuca ( Jazz Erotica ), Elmo Hope , Harold Land ( The Fox ) and Jimmy Witherspoon ( At Renaissance , with Gerry Mulligan and Ben Webster ). Some of his productions were later re-released as compact discs on Fresh Sound Records .
