Hidden Orchestra is a music project by British bassist and electronic musician Joe Acheson. The project's studio albums are created almost entirely by Acheson; Hidden Orchestra performs as a four-piece band at concerts.

history

The project was initially founded under the name Joe Acheson Quartet. In 2010 the first album of the project was released (already under the name Hidden Orchestra), Night Walks . Since then, the Hidden Orchestra has toured Europe as a quartet with founder Joe Acheson (double bass and electronics), Poppy Ackroyd (piano, violin) and drummers Tim Lane and Jamie Graham and performed at the Glastonbury Festival in 2011 . In 2012 the second album Archipelago was released . The 2015 Reorchestrations consists mainly of remixes that were created by adding additional layers of sound.

In addition to regular albums, Acheson publishes free mixtapes.

During their live performances, the band can be accompanied by light installations by the artist Tom Newell alias Lumen.
