Denovali Records is an independent label founded in 2005 .
history
The label was founded in 2005 by Timo Alterauge and Thomas Hack. The name is a reference to Novalis .
Denovali has curated and organized international music festivals since 2007 (Denovali Swingfest until 2015, since then Denovali Festival). They found u. a. in Essen (since 2009), London and Berlin . In connection with the label's launch in 2005, Denovali opened an online record store that also sells albums from other music labels.
A trademark of Denovali are the record covers, which are designed uniformly without images of the performers.
Focus
Denovali explicitly focuses on niches. The program is dominated by publications of avant-garde music from the pop-cultural spectrum, ranging from electronic music such as ambient and electronica to titles in the field of tension between jazz , drone doom , dark jazz , modern classical and sound art .
