Hidden Timbre is a German progressive metal band from Gera , Thuringia .

Hidden Timbre was founded in 1994 by the two remaining founding members, Andreas Kaiser and Danny Schmidt. Sebastian Schulz has been strengthening the band since 2018.

Her musical role models include Mastodon , Opeth , Dream Theater , Led Zeppelin and Van der Graaf Generator

In addition to their musical creation process, the band works in various projects. Among other things, the progressive symphonic work "Hereafter - Visions from the Beyond" was created in 2007 together with the Gera composer and conductor Christian Frank . The progressive work Hereafter is regularly performed together with the concert choir of the Goethegymnasium / Rutheneum Gera and the BSP Fusion Orchester, most recently in 2018 in Zittau as the prelude to the "Kommen und Gehen" festival.

history

The band was founded in 1994 by Andreas Kaiser and Danny Schmidt. After several line-up changes, the band between 2003 and 2010 consisted of Anja Bräutigam (vocals), Andreas Kaiser (guitar), Danny Schmidt (drums), Clemens Prescher (guitar) and Mirko Schmidt (bass). After 2010, Ronny Uhlemann took over as singer and Jonathan Hammer replaced Clemens Prescher on guitar. On March 4, 2018, the band announced on their Facebook page that singer Ronny Uhlemann and guitarist Jonathan Hammer had left the band for personal reasons.
