Hieronymus Bosch was a progressive death metal band that was formed in Moscow in November 1993 .
history
The band was founded in November 1993 by Vsevolod Gorbenko (vocals, electric bass, keyboard), Vladimir Leiviman (electric guitar), Oleg Levkovich (electric bass) and Pavel Bogoroditsky (drums). On December 25, 1993, the band recorded their first demo and performed a few live performances after the demo was recorded.
The first studio demo, which should consist of six songs, was recorded in July 1994 and was named Petra Scandali . In autumn of the same year the song The Apogee from the demo Petra Scandali was released on Thrash Tvoyu Mat '- Part 1 , a metal compilation, on CD. As a result, other songs by Petra Scandali were used on various compilations.
The band played concerts and rehearsed for another six months in preparation for their first studio album. In January 1995 the band went to the Aria Records Studio to finish the album The Human Abstract within two weeks . Since the band had difficulties to find a suitable label for The Human Abstract , the album was only released in autumn 1995 on the label KTP / Soyuz . Due to the high sales of the album, Hieronymus Bosch could now begin to play more concerts.
At the beginning of 1996 Hieronymus Bosch started working on new material. These were interrupted by the departure of guitarist Vladimir Leiviman, who held a kind of leadership position in the band. In the summer of 1998 the band members got together again to attempt to record an EP. The band did not succeed, however, because the drummer Pavel Bogoroditsky died in July 1998. The band then decided to split up as Bogoroditsky had been a close friend of everyone.
In June 2003 the band got together again. The new drummer was Andrey Ischenko ( End Zone , Symbol , Scrambled Defuncts , Catharsis ). The band was back on stage in the spring of 2004.
In 2005 the debut album The Human Abstract was re-released with two bonus tracks. In the same year the new album Artificial Emotions was released . Both albums were released on CD Maximum .
In 2008 the next album Equivoke was released at CD Maximum.
In April 2010 the band finally broke up.
style
Characteristic for the sound of the band was their special form of death metal , which mixed progressive and technical elements. The extremely aggressive way of playing was also a defining style for the band, but was repeatedly interrupted by quieter passages. The pieces move on a high, very complex level.
