In the film, a spaceship is in space, far beyond our solar system. The only human inhabitants are Monte and his baby daughter Willow. Like her mother Boyse, Monte was one of the members of a group of inmates, including death row inmates, who were sent on a dangerous mission to the closest black hole to the earth to search for alternative sources of energy.

reception
Matt Zoller Seitz, one for Roger Ebert noted active film critic, not only everything about the film is retro , and Stuart Staples analog, synthesizer-heavy soundtrack'm so therefore, and if the uncredited Tindersticks Robert Pattinson accompanied, as in the role of Monte loses his will to live, he sounds like Chris Isaak .
