High School of Glasgow

The High School of Glasgow is a privately funded secondary school in Glasgow , Scotland . Established around 1124 as the choir school of Glasgow Cathedral , it is the oldest school in Scotland and the twelfth oldest in the United Kingdom. It remained part of the church as the town's high school until it came under local government in 1872 and was privatized in 1976. The school has an old relationship with the cathedral, which hosts a church service and thanksgiving festival every September. She has two British Prime Ministers , two Presidents of the Court of Session and the founder of the University of Aberdeen among her alumni.

It is a selective school, which means that interested students have to take an entrance examination at the beginning. Around 1000 students between the ages of three and 18 attend the school. The principal of the school is Colin Mair.
