After the end of Sleep , guitarist Matt Pike formed the band High on Fire with George Rice and Des Kenzel in 1999 . Her first album, The Art of Self Defense , not only got off badly in the music press, the bankruptcy of her label also prevented success. Their popularity grew slowly with albums two and three on a new label, Blessed Black Wings followed in 2005 and the 2007 album Death Is This Communion finally brought them their breakthrough. For the first time they landed on the hard rock charts and also on the official Billboard 200 . Snakes for the Divine , which appeared in spring 2010, was even more successful . It reached the top 100 and number 5 in hard rock albums. De Vermis Mysteriis from 2012, the band released their sixth album.
