Hilario López

Hilario López García (born November 18, 1907 in Guadalajara , Jalisco , † January 23, 1987 in Mexico ), also known by the nickname Moco , was a Mexican football player who was used in both the attacking midfield and the attack line.

biography

El Moco López began his career in the ranks of his home club Club Deportivo Nacional and moved to the Mexican capital in 1928 to play for the newly formed Club Marte in the capital league. In 1930 he was part of the Mexican squad at the first ever World Cup in Uruguay , where he played all the games of the Mexican national team . In the 1930s he moved to Club Necaxa, also based in the capital, and was an important part of the team that largely dominated the Mexican football league in the 1930s and went down in Mexican football history as Once hermanos (the eleven brothers). Between 1934/35 and 1936/37 Hilario López was the top scorer of the Primera Fuerza three times in a row .
