Hildr (Valkyrie)
Hildr ( Old Norse hildr to German fight ) is the name of a Valkyrie from Nordic mythology . It is documented in the Edden (Edda), in saga literature and in works of Skaldic poetics.
In the case of Snorri Sturluson (Skaldskapermál 47), Hildr shows a deviation, contrary to the function of escorting the fallen in battle to Valhalla, which is well known for Valkyries. During the night, it brings the warriors killed during the day to life so that they can go into battle again. Rudolf Simek sees Gunter Müller in this story as the folk-mythological reflex, in addition to the typological reference of the Valkyries to death, a healing function of the Hildr through magical-magical powers.
