The Raspberry Lake ( Russian Малиновое озеро ) is a lake in Mikhailovskoye district in the Altai region of Russia , around 20 km east of the border with Kazakhstan . With an area of 11.4 km² (extension about 6 km × 2.6 km), it is one of the largest bitter-salty lakes in the group of "Borowskie Lakes" in this region.
The alkaline lake contains, among other things, sulfur liver water and is colored pink or brown-red depending on the season, due to the phytoplankton living in it . There are brine shrimp in the lake . The settlement of the same name, Malinowoje Osero , on the bank is named after him.
