Rear harness

The rear harness

The rear harness consists of the handle , the fork belt and the floating belt . The handling runs along the hindquarters of the horse, more precisely on the thigh around the rear part of the horse. The floating strap is located on the tail strap , leads over the horse's croup and ends in the handling. These are attached to a metal eyelet on the drawbar using the fork belt .

The rear harness counteracts the pushing force of the cart and prevents it from running into the horse's rear legs.

It is mainly used for harnesses for single-horse harnesses , but also in mountainous regions for other types of tension .
