Hippostratos was an Indo-Greek king who lived around 65 to 55 BC. Ruled in western Punjab .

He seems to have fought primarily against the Indo-Scythians , to whom he eventually lost. In any case, his coins were struck by Azes I , who certainly wanted to indicate his victory.

The coins of Hippostratos usually show his portrait with a Greek inscription on the obverse, on the reverse there is a deity or the ruler as a rider and an inscription in Kharoshthi .
