Hiroshi Abe (astronomer)

Hiroshi Abe ( Japanese 安 部 裕 史 , Abe Hiroshi ; * 1958 in Yatsuka , Shimane Prefecture ) is a Japanese amateur astronomer who works with the Yatsuka Observatory .

Abe, a graduate of a natural science degree at the University of Kobe , is the discoverer of currently 28 asteroids (as of Jan. 2010), eight of them together with Seidai Miyasaka and Robert H. McNaught . He also discovered the Nova (V458) Vulpeculae on August 8, 2007 .

The asteroid (5379) Abehiroshi was named after him.
