Hiroyuki Miyazawa (politician)

Hiroyuki Miyazawa ( Japanese 宮 沢 博 行 , Miyazawa Hiroyuki ; born January 10, 1975 in Iwata County , Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician, member of the lower house of the national parliament of the Liberal Democratic Party ( Machimura faction ) for the 3rd constituency of Shizuoka.

Miyazawa, a law graduate from the University of Tokyo , was elected to the Iwata City Parliament in 2003 for the first of three terms . In 2012 he resigned. In the general election in December 2012 , he ran in the 3rd constituency of Shizuoka, which the former Minister of Social Affairs Hakuo Yanagisawa had lost to the Democrat Nobuhiro Koyama in the 2009 election . Miyazawa prevailed with 40.3% of the vote against the former mayor of Iwata City, Nozomu Suzuki ( Ishin , 27.3%, elected in the Tōkai proportional representation), and incumbent Koyama (26.6%) and won the seat for the LDP back. In 2014 he was re-elected with 49.8% of the vote.
