The Hirzerseilbahn is a cable car near Merano . It leads from the valley station in Saltaus to 490  m slm ( 46 ° 43 '43 "  N , 11 ° 12' 0"  O coordinates: 46 ° 43 '43 "  N , 11 ° 12' 0"  O ) via the intermediate station Prenn ( 46 ° 44 ′ 4 ″  N , 11 ° 13 ′ 38 ″  E , 1404  m ) to the Klammeben mountain station near the Hirzerhütte at 1980  m ( 46 ° 44 ′ 18 ″  N , 11 ° 14 ′ 50 ″  E ). The railway overcomes an altitude difference of 1490 meters on this route. The route length is 3981.5 meters.

The Hirzerseilbahn was opened in 1974 and built by Hölzl GmbH.

In the valley station of the cable car there is an open cable guide, in the middle station the open controls of the system can be seen. These are two independent systems that are recorded in the Bozen cable car statistics.

Two gondolas each with a capacity of 35 and 45 people operate on the Tal-Mittel and Mittel-Berg routes . The train creates 10 meters per second while traveling.
