HistoriCar is a classic car event in Duisburg . The event took place annually from 2005 to 2015. Since 2018, after a two-year break, the event has continued under the name Motorworld HistoriCar. The venue is a 35,000 m 2 area in the Duisburg-Nord landscape park and the additional 7,000 m 2 hall of the power station of the former steelworks.

subjects

The event takes place annually under different themes. In the first year, 2005, there were trucks from the economic boom and the history of the motorcycle manufacturer Kreidler, which went bankrupt in 1982 . In addition, racing films from the 1950s to 1970s were shown. The highlight of the HistoriCar 2006 was a complete collection of vehicles from the British sports car manufacturer AC Cobra . In 2009 the event ran under the motto "Oldtimer meets Hot Rod". Classic cars have been optically modified like hot rods . In 2010 the original movie car from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was presented and was therefore the focus of the HistoriCar.

facts and figures

At the first event in 2005, around 250 classic cars were exhibited. In 2006 and 2007 each 350 classic cars were counted. At the HistoriCar 2009 there were again 300 historical vehicles on display. In 2010 there were 300 exhibitors, in 2011 the number rose to around 3,000.
