The historic café hall is a former hotel café in the Hessian community Schlangenbad . It was built in the late 19th century to complement the Hotel Kaiserhof , today's town hall , in the historicist style. The hall is one of the last surviving examples of cast iron wall halls , a characteristic architecture of German spas of that era.

The café hall was built on the east side of the hotel, set back from Rheingauer Straße. Between two brick gable walls, an elongated, slender cast iron construction rises on a brick base. Twelve high arched windows structure the facade facing the street. The supporting pillars are decorated with ornaments.

The garden that was originally in front of the café was abandoned and a parking lot was created on its site. Today the building is used as a communal exhibition and assembly room.
