Historical Museum Baden

The Historical Museum Baden is a history museum in the Swiss city of Baden in the canton of Aargau . It houses relics from the more than 2000-year history of the city and region and is housed in the governor's palace and its extension. The extension was built in 1992/93 according to plans by Wilfrid and Katharina Steib and is popularly known as the "melon carving" due to its curved shape.

In its exhibitions and events, the Baden Historical Museum focuses on the exchange between people in the history of baths, industry and the daily statutes.

In Landvogteischloss are carefully furnished castle rooms. Two special exhibitions per year focus on socially relevant topics with a strong reference to the present beyond the city limits.

The Historisches Museum Baden has been collecting everyday objects and utensils such as objects from the industrial culture of the 20th century since the 1990s. Together with its sponsoring association, the Baden Historical Museum maintains the Industrial Culture Trail. The industrial culture path Limmat-Wasserschloss is a hiking trail that leads past the industrial-historical buildings. There are boards next to the objects that contain information on the history, significance and current use.
