The Itokoku History Museum ( Japanese 伊 都 国 歴 史 博物館 , Itokoku Rekishi Hakubutsukan , Ito-koku History Museum ) is an archaeological museum in Itoshima , in Fukuoka Prefecture , Japan with the historical Ito State as its focus. The museum was originally opened as the "Ito Historical Archive" ( 伊 都 歴 史 資料 館 , Ito Rekishi Shiryōkan ) in 1982 and has been continued under its current name as the Museum of the City of Maebaru since October 29, 2004 . With the amalgamation of the cities of Maebaru, Nijō and Shima to form the city of Itoshima, the museum also became the property of the city of Itoshima.

Originally, the archaeologist Dairoku Harada , who had made an outstanding contribution to the excavation of the Hirabaru site in particular, was supposed to take over the management of the "Ito Historical Archive". However, he died during the preparation and opening phase of the museum, which is why a bronze statue was erected in his honor, which is still located on the back of the first building in which the archive was opened. The new four-story building of the museum was erected right next to this old building and connected to the old building on the second floor by a passage. The total area of the museum is 14,312 m², of which 4119 m² are interior space and 1108 m² are exhibition space.
