The Hitzacker See (also: Hitzackersee ) is a lake in the area of the town of Hitzacker (Elbe) in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
The lake, about 1100 meters wide and 850 meters long, is located on the eastern outskirts of Hitzacker. The Jeetzel , a left tributary of the Elbe , flows through it from south to north . To the north of the lake is the archaeological open-air museum Archaeological Center Hitzacker .
