The heat shock protein beta-7 ( gene name: HSPB7 , formerly cvHSP) is a protein found in vertebrates . It belongs to the group of so-called small heat shock proteins , whose characteristic feature is the α-crystallin domain.

cvHSP was published in 1999 by Krief et al. described, consists of 170 amino acids and appears to be expressed only in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissue . Analyzes with the yeast two-hybrid system and immunoprecipitation experiments showed that cvHSP is linked to alpha- filamine . The amino acids with the sequence numbers 56 to 119 seem to be decisive for this protein interaction . It has been shown that cvHSP also interacts with the small heat shock protein HSP22 (HSPB8).
