Hjalmar Frisk
Hjalmar Frisk (born August 4, 1900 in Gothenburg ; † August 1, 1984 ibid) was a Swedish linguist , linguist and Indo-Europeanist .
He has emerged internationally through numerous publications. As early as 1927 he translated the historical document " Periplus Maris Erythraei ". Best known in the German-speaking world is probably his Greek Etymological Dictionary (3 volumes, 1954–1972). From 1951 to 1966 he was rector of the University of Gothenburg .
