Oberfrohn Church

The Oberfrohn church , located 1324 m above sea level, is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the parish of Sankt Lorenzen in the Lesach Valley. The building, built in 1633, was enlarged and newly vaulted in 1805. The two-axis nave has a drawn-in 3/8 choir and carnies arched window. The western, wooden roof turret is crowned with an onion helmet. The facade is structured by painted pilasters . Inside, a shallow barrel with stitch caps arches over the nave. A retracted, round-arched triumphal arch connects the nave with the interior rounded choir. A swinging music gallery is built into the west.

The late baroque wall paintings were created in 1807 by Christoph Brandstätter from Kötschach . St. Augustine and the Holy Trinity are depicted in the ceiling field . The four evangelists can be seen on the medallions between the windows . Tendrils and ornament complement the decoration of the church.

altar

Like the prayer chairs, the altar with the image of the Coronation of Mary dates from the late baroque period.
