Miguel Irízar Campos

Miguel Irízar Campos CP (born May 7, 1934 in Ormaiztegui , † August 19, 2018 in Bilbao ) was a Spanish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Callao .

Life

Miguel Irízar Campos joined the Congregation of the Passionists in and received on 16 March 1957, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 25, 1972 titular Bishop of Elo and Vicar Apostolic of Yurimaguas . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Agnelo Rossi , ordained him episcopal on July 25th of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Venancio Celestino Orbe Uriarte CP, Prelate of Moyobamba , and Joseph Gustave Roland Prévost Godard PME , Vicar Apostolic of Pucallpa .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Callao on August 6, 1989 . When Ricardo Durand Flórez ' SJ retired on August 17, 1995, he succeeded him as Bishop of Callao.

On December 12, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Miguel Irízar Campos for reasons of age.
