Hnutí za samosprávnou demokracii - Společnost pro Moravu a Slezsko

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hnutí za samosprávnou demokracii - Společnost pro Moravu a Slezsko (HSD-SMS, German Movement for Self- Governing Democracy - Society for Moravia and Silesia ) was a Moravian political party that was represented in the Czech House of Representatives from 1990 to 1996 . Its main aim was to create a federal system within the Czech Republic and thus more self-government and autonomy rights for the Moravian part of the country.

After the party performed significantly weaker than in 1990 in the 1992 elections, it finally became part of the Moravané (German: The Moravians ) party through a series of splits or mergers with other small parties . This party is not currently represented in any parliament in the Czech Republic.
