University of Music Basel

The University of Music is an institute of the Music Academy of the City of Basel . It has had the status of a technical college since 1999 .

history

The Composer Hans Huber taught as a director, which was founded in 1867 General Music School in 1905, the Conservatory one, the first of its kind in the German-speaking Switzerland . Today it is called the University of Music in Basel . In 1954 the General Music School was merged with the University of Music and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis founded by Paul Sacher in 1933 .
